I've gotten to know Scott Waguespack over the years, and I know a lot of my friends who think he is the real thing. He has consistently ignored the problematic status quo in the city when he's known it was bad for his constituents. I'd seriously consider voting for and supporting Scott if he were to run for mayor, but he should consider becoming more of a social leader of his constituency, not following the ideology. You get elected, then you work for change, leading the people who vote for you to new ways of thinking. A good ideological alderman will think harder about what is right for everyone -- especially for the disadvantaged -- than what will keep him in office. His ward's constituency is mostly middle class and so some of his decisions have been hostile to those in the working class.
